I really had to think twice about including a review of Neil Strauss’s “The Game” on the website as its nature is controversial to say the least.
May I make it known here that the opinions of the author as expressed in this review bears no relation to my own and I am merely recounting them for informative purposes.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, I have to say I have never read a more entertaining book in my entire life than “The Game”.
“The Game” recounts the experiences of author Neil Strauss, a writer and confessed AFC (average frustrated chump) who almost by accident penetrates a secret society of men whose lives are dedicated to picking up women.
These are men who go out to clubs, bars, shopping centers and cafes, solely with the intention of picking up women to sleep with, then congregate afterward in online communities and post field reports about their experience as a method of mass shared self education. They make a science of seduction.
These men are intelligent, studying literature on hypnosis, social dynamics, psychology, evolutionary theory and more, many theories of which are woven throughout the books pages making the book educational as well as entertaining.
Within a year and a half, after extensive experience in this community, Neil takes his experience with women comes to almost non existent to places few men have been before, and as a result leading a cult of eager men teaching them these very same skills for a hefty price.
The book taught many valuable lessons on the principles of human interaction, seduction, persuasion and more. It is for this reason that “The Game” is popular amongst marketers and business men, as the skills used to seduce a woman are not unlike those necessary to persuade a customer to purchase your product or convince someone of the validity of an argument.
If you are a single man this book will enormously increase your ability to meet women whether that be casually or for the purpose of a quality relationship. If you are a taken man, the book will help you to better understand women and why they do the things they do. It will also remind you (in the end) the beauty of NOT being a PUA and the ultimate joy of being in a great relationship.
If you are a women the book will make you less likely to fall prey to such a “Pick Up Artist” (although the mPUA’s do claim that knowledge of the tactics being used on a woman doesn’t make her any less vulnerable to their power.) and maybe help you to understand some of your motives more clearly in terms of relationship choices and social behaviour.
The book is a longer read but the excitement and intrigue of each chapter ensured I couldn’t put it down.
Whether it be for education or entertainment, “The Game" won’t leave you disappointed. I highly recommend it.
