The next step in being able to benefit from the law of attraction is moving from understanding the law, to applying it in your life. While the mastery of the law of attraction is a life long pursuit, this article will offer several practical examples of how to use the law of attraction to start attracting the success you deserve into your life today.
1. Be aware – As with many things, the first step to reaping the benefits of the law of attraction is becoming aware. The first thing you need to do is realize and constantly remind yourself the simple truth that EVERY action you take and every thought you think has an effect in your life. The less focused and less consistent the thought is, the smaller its effect will be and the longer it will take to manifest as something tangible. The more focused and more consistent the thought is, the larger its effect will be and the faster it will manifest as something tangible in your life.
In addition to this, awareness includes realizing that you are the ultimate creator and taking responsibility for every circumstance that manifests in your life. To do this can be greatly empowering. For example: suddenly a situation arises that makes you angry at something in your environment. Ordinarily you would continue to be angry, taking things out on the thing you believe to have created the event. When you realize the truth, you see that there is never anyone to be angry about except you and quite often that helps dissipate that anger. It puts you in control. 2. Take a mental inventory: Now that you are more aware of the effect the law of attraction is having on your life, you are in a position to make some changes. Your job now is to gradually and systematically go about removing patterns of thought and action from your life that are disempowering to you. You might think that to be a tough task and guess what? You’re right! But here’s a fact that will help you out: 95% of the thoughts you have today are the SAME ones you had yesterday! Take a few days trying to be more aware of your thoughts.
You’ll very likely notice patterns in your thinking. You’ll notice yourself reacting in similar ways to certain situations and you’ll notice certain thoughts about yourself and your environment that are very repetitive. Write these thoughts down somewhere and browse through them at the end of the few days. Can you see how these might me limiting you and causing certain things to be attracted to you? For example you might find yourself continually worrying about your money situation. Can you see how now how consistent thought like this causes more money problems to arise? Can you see how you are creating?
3. Start focusing on what you DO want in your life: Now that you are aware of the power of LOA and you have begun dismantling some negative thought patterns you’re ready to start inserting some power empowering ones. Take some time each day to focus your thoughts on the things you would like to attract into your life. Focus on how you would LIKE your life to be. Now there are some conditions here. You can’t simply think about the future like a dream. You MUST think about your desired future with a level of belief that it WILL become reality. You can’t just visualize it but on the inside not really be confident that it will become real. You must imagine, with faith that what you envision will come to be. Not only that but you must imagine your desired future from the viewpoint that you already HAVE it.
If you visualize something as though you WANT it, all you will ever get is the ‘wantingness’ of the thing. You have to condition your subconscious mind to be ready to accept the circumstance you desire before you will ever attain it. That’s why lotto winners are almost always bankrupt a few years after their win fall. Their minds were never ready to possess the level of wealth they acquired and so they subconsciously resisted the wealth and returned to where they believed themselves worthy of. You have to use your visualizations to make yourself into the kind of person who can possess the things you eventually want to possess. Visualizing as though things have already happened allows you to do this.
4. Take ACTION – The reason a lot of people become disillusioned with the law of attraction is because some people have presented it as some method of ‘wishing’ and ‘hoping’ your way to your dreams which we know, rarely works. Some people have become too caught up in the fact that thought creates reality so they focused too much on the thinking aspect of LOA and forgot about ACTION! In the introduction to law of attraction we talked about how thoughts influence reality because they project energy. What most people don’t realize is that ACTION is the most profound expression of energy we can undertake! Think about it, if you have a book in front of you on your desk and you want to move it off your desk, will you move it faster with your thoughts or your actions? Unless you are a completely enlightened monk, the answer is with your actions.
Actions are energy that can IMMEDIATELY manifest results. Not only that but they are accompanied by thought! If you are trying to attract a new BMW, what do you think would give more powerful energy, visualizing a BMW or GOING to a dealer and sitting in one? Or going to the store picking up brochures and planning which car you will get, on which pricing plan, and setting a date by which you are CERTAIN you will have it? The idea is to ACT as though you expect something to happen. If you want wealth, talk like you are wealthy, walk like you are wealthy, work like you are wealthy and most importantly, build a plan (the actions) to become wealthy and carry it out! Action is the key to success and certainly a vital aspect of the law of attraction.
5. Meditate: Another little known secret of the law of attraction is that the speed at which you can attract things is relative to the strength with which you can focus. The reason that things don’t manifest instantly in our lives is because our minds aren’t strong enough yet to be able to put in place the force large enough to pull things to us instantaneously. As I mentioned, there are accounts of monks who can attract and create things instantly, starting fires with their thoughts or lifting heavy objects without touching them. Unfortunately most of us will never have the focus to pull off these monk like acts but the point is that the power of your focus is the key.
Meditating helps to clear your mind of the irrelevant, continual, usually meaningless day to day thoughts that clutter our minds. With less clutter we can focus more intently on the outcomes we desire. We can visualize more clearly, hold our visions more firmly and attract what we want more efficiently. There are many different ways to meditate that are not specific to any religion, some as simple as just sitting for an extended period of time with your eyes closed, trying to focus on your breathing. If you can commit to taking the above 5 steps, it won’t be long before you notice differences in your life; little things first then slowly big ones. With continued practice, attention, and belief you will be able to manifest anything you like into your life and achieve the success you are worthy of.
